The choir

The Chorale du Brassus doesn’t deny its very rich past, and will never forget what it owes to André Charlet. Like the filmmaker Woody Allen, the famous men’s choir from the Vallée de Joux is very keen on the future, because the intention is to enjoy the coming years! Under the leadership of Stanislava Nankova, our men’s choir and its forty cultivated singers, all types of music have made its reputation: from popular songs through songs written for religious and romantic choirs to well-known Opera. The new conductor has already set het marks by proposing music from Eastern Europe, as the music performed by the orthodox choirs are perfectly suitable for the male voices. Softly and gradually, our repertoire has been enriched and renewed. Stanislava Nankova also generates a new momentum and a new dynamism to make sure that even this choir, famous and prestigious by its history, will not rest on its laurels…

As a sign of this renewal the Chorale du Brassus revives with a very intense program of concerts in the French speaking of Switzerland and in France. It recently performed in the Victoria Hall of Geneva, participated in a Festival in Lorraine and was present at the 20th Schubertiade in Yverdon-les-Bains. We even teamed with the Geneva Brass Quintet in an ever enriching experience: the marriage of voices and a brass band. To celebrate this fruitful collaboration, a CD will be released. Coming next, once again, a couple of concerts for all lovers of the most beautiful men’s voices during the Rencontres Internationales de la Vallée de Joux in June 2018. ‘The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams’, someone said. This is our conviction and our way to thank you, dear audience and friends of our choir, joining us making our beautiful dream come through!
